It's been said that providing a proverbial “seat at the table” to a person with a disability won’t help if they can’t even get into the building, and an Edmonton workshop may help to ensure they find their space.
An event that has been planned for Edmonton’s disabled community will soon be on offer, and will provide tools that may help those who drop by to live their best life. The Edmonton Public Library will be marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by hosting this resource fair, and it's been scheduled for its Stanley A, Milner branch, which is located downtown. Everyone is welcome.
The resource fair will connect these people and their families with an assortment of supports, including local community service groups. It will have a focus on accessibility and inclusion, and the goal is for the participants to walk away feeling empowered and full of knowledge that’s helpful to them. They will be able to learn about advocacy and other initiatives, and admission will be free.
Not for profit groups often make up a large part of a community's social safety net. A brochure printing company can provide an assortment of materials to distribute during public events.
The Edmonton Library will be marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with its community resource fair on November 30th. It will be open from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.
