Edmonton event brings frightful film fun

A night of thrills and chills that harks back to the bygone days of drive-in movies will help the city celebrate the Halloween season, and it will feature both new and classic films.

This spooky night spent under the stars will be on offer at Edmonton's Lake Summerside, and it will offer movies for kids and adults alike. It will open with a family-friendly feature before something a little more scary, and both advance registration and walk-ups will be welcome.

The event will open with a screening of “Hotel Transylvania", and afterwards, the picture “Us” will be shown. The car spots bookings must be made in advance, and the walk-ins rate allows people to set up their folding chairs to take in the show. The movies will start at 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm, and everyone is asked to arrive early so they can get settled in.

To help elevate the experience, a variety of Edmonton-based food trucks will be parked at the venue, and costumed characters will be strolling through the crowd. Owners of mobile eateries can count on Print shops that supply graphic design work to craft and install vehicle wraps, which can help them look their best.

The Spook and Screen Drive in Movie will take place at 1720 88 Street Southwest in Edmonton on October 17th. The cost to reserve a space starts at $20.00.
