Edmonton is set to experience an evening of fishy fun, and it will give all ages an introduction to the world of aquatic wildlife.
Early June will see Nature Alberta run one of its newest activities at the Hermitage Park Boat Launch. It will be free and open to all ages, and spots will be filled first come, first served.
During the session, Alberta Fish Hatcheries’ Eric Costello will share information about the species of fish that call Alberta home. There will be games to play and opportunities to learn about the ecology of the province’s watersheds, and an opportunity to hold a fish is in the works. The gathering will be capped off with a release of rainbow trout into the venue’s pond. There may also be volunteer opportunities available for those who would like to lend a hand.
Providing an opportunity to learn about nature can be a fun way to build stakeholders in environmental advocacy. Promotional Products such as stickers, fridge magnets and other materials for an activity can be ordered from a Print shop.
This introduction to the fascinating world of fish will begin at 6:30 pm on June 5th. Registration will start at 6:00 pm, and the venue can be found at 620 Hermitage Park Road. A link for anyone who would like to volunteer is included in the event’s listing.
