Stars slalom at Sunshine Village

The glare of the snow at couldn't stop Hollywood stars from shining recently at Sunshine Village.

Actor Pierce Brosnan and a host of other Hollywood celebs attended the annual Waterkeeper Alliance ski weekend at the resort in the Rockies.

Other notable attendees included Cheryl Hines and Alan Thicke, the Canadian producer who found fame south of the 49th parallel. The stars participated in the Fairmont Banff Spring Sports Invitational.

Ski races, both amateur and professional, take place almost every weekend in winter at ski resorts west of Calgary, offering excellent opportunities for Print companies to bid on banner printing for sponsor recognition.
Talking about the venue, former Bond star Brosnan said:



"To ski here in this glorious environment of Banff, and the Rockies, with my son who's 16 — it's tremendous.”




The annual event was founded by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. For the past 12 years, it has helped to raise global awareness of water issues.
Bronsnan continued:



“I think more and more people are understanding that water is the big issue of the future and, you know, particularly Canada's got oil and gas and all these other extractive industries but it has one fifth of the fresh water in the world and that's going to be the resource that people really are going to be fighting for.”




It the past dozen years, Waterkeepers has raised $10 million towards its mission.

There are 200 chapters of the non-profit organization, including an Edmonton-based group that acts as an eco-watchdog for the North Saskatchewan River.
