Calgary workshop to explore bacteria with benefits

The human gut is home to a diverse community of microorganisms, many of which are an important part of maintaining a person's overall health. There are ways an individual can help to support these beneficial bacteria, and a Calgary workshop will provide further details.

Microbiome Health will be the topic of discussion during a session that will be hosted by the new downtown branch of the Central Calgary Public Library. Dr. Kathy McCoy will be sharing her knowledge, which can help the audience members take charge of their own physical wellbeing.

Dr. McCoy will give some background into gut bacteria and the role they play in human health. She will discuss ways that a person can give this biome some TLC, which can be helpful in ensuring it will thrive.

There is no registration fee being applied when registering for this session, and the organizers have made a request that those who are interested RSVP and arrive on time. A workshop like this can be part of the programming a library offers to the community, and publications from a flyer printing company can help to let the public now that it has been planned.

This event, which is part of the ‘Understanding Your Health’ lecture series being offered by the Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases, has been scheduled for October 28. The registrants are asked to arrive by no later than 6:30 pm sharp.
