The Calgary Humane Society will be the charity of choice for an activity that will see local yoga fans go through a series of poses.
The Paws for a Cause 3.0 Yoga Event will give fans of the practice a chance to engage in the activity while meeting some new furry friends, which may include puppies if the Society has any at the time. It will explore how mindfulness can benefit mental health, and the venue will be 4455 110 Avenue Southeast in Calgary.
The gathering has been organized by Humankind, and along with the yoga, it will incorporate a mental health chat. The session will run for three hours, and all levels of yoga knowledge are welcome to attend. Snacks and other refreshments will be supplied to the participants, and a pop-up vendor area is also in the works. Everyone is asked to bring their yoga mat as well as a water bottle and smile, and the registration fee is $50.00. Half of this amount will be passed along to the Humane Society, and a donation goal of $5,000 has been set.
Part of organizing a successful fundraiser may include choosing suitable marketing materials that are also budget friendly. Local banner printing companies will be happy to help.
This afternoon of yoga with some furry friends will open at 12:00 pm on January 17th. Tickets can be purchased through its Eventbrite listing.
