Calgary to celebrate its heritage

The thirty-fifth Heritage Day Festival will take place at Prince's Island Park on August 6 from 12:00 - 6:00 PM. This is a free event presented by the Calgary Folk Arts Council.

The theme of this year's festival is ‘one world’ and it will feature numerous multicultural dance and musical performances, food from all around the world, original handicrafts, a children's area, and an Indian village. This will be a great way for the family to spend this civic holiday.

It seems very likely that Calgary printing companies will be helping the organizers of the festival prepare by offering their services. Banner printing services can provide a colorful banner to be hung over any stage to help add a festive air. Poster printing services could be used to help ensure that a considerable number of people know about this event as possible. Whichever services they require, it is more than likely that a local printing company can provide whatever is needed.

This is just one of the many events that will be held in the Calgary area on Heritage Day, with others including Sunfest and the Calgary Fringe Festival. Heritage Day is a statutory holiday in several areas of Canada. In Ontario and other provinces, it is called ‘Family Day’, while in Calgary it goes by the name of ‘Heritage Day’.

The Calgary Folk Arts Council is dedicated to preserving and advancing the cultural heritage of the Calgary area. It is believed by promoting that heritage that it will bring awareness and respect towards other cultures.
