Calgary to cast vote in ice cream competition

An ice cold treat can help to cool off on a hot Calgary summer day, and a special event that will raise money for a grassroots level community feeding program will offer this experience.

The YYC Ice Cream Fest will bring lots of frozen fun to the city, and it will showcase the culinary expertise of its food service community. Everyone can take part by voting for their top pick, and there will be three categories set up.

To get involved, members of the public can review the list of participating eateries and choose their treat from the list that will soon be provided. Non-dairy options will be in the mix, and once they have finished their dessert, the diners will be able to cast their vote. The proceeds from the day will be donated to Meals on Wheels, and at least $1.00 from every purchase of an item in the friendly competition will be contributed to the cause.

A fundraiser that features food gives a city’s culinary community an opportunity to showcase their skills while helping others. Awards and other Corporate Gifts for a function can be ordered from a local printer, which will be able to utilize the skills of its graphic design team to create unique items.

The YYC Ice Cream Fest will kick off on July 18th and wrap up on August 17th. Its website will be updated with the latest details.
