Calgary kids to explore how waste gets recycled

The Calgary Mayor’s Environmental Expo is one of the functions that is on the cards for the city this spring, and it will give young people tools they can use to create a greener future.

The schedule of activities for the occasion is quite extensive, and one of these will be the Waste Buds workshop, which is intended for kids in grades two and three. Free to attend, and it will help them to discover what happens with their trash once it is tossed into the composting bin or recycling sorter.

The function will see kids take part in a variety of educational games, and while they play and have fun, they will also be learning. They will work in teams to come up with new ways of reducing the amount of waste that ends up in landfills, and before they head for home, they will be invited to make a craft using the recycled materials provided.

A brochure printing company will be able to help prepare for an event like this, crafting both advertising materials and informative Brochures to distribute to attendees at the event.

The Central Library, which is located at 800 3 Street Southeast, has plans to host the Waste Buds workshop on May 31st. Registration can be completed by visiting its Eventbrite listing.
