It's time again for Winefest, a winetasting and sampling event which takes place annually in both Calgary and Edmonton. It is a chance for local wineries to make a name for themselves in the community.
Those attending will be treated to samplings of various local wines and will receive advice from experts on topics such as choosing which wines go best with certain foods. They will also be treated to hors d'oeuvres, cheese and apples.
There will be door prizes and guests will get to choose who wins the People's Choice Award. Guests will also be able to purchase wine during the evening. The festival is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy wine but don't know much about it. It should also be a great boon to Calgary wine merchants, especially for those which do not have the budget of the big wine brands.
Those taking part in Winefest Calgary will no doubt be working with local printing companies to advertise the fact that they will be in attendance. Designing and printing a flyer is a good way to get the word out; Flyers are inexpensive and can be distributed in a wide variety of ways, such as Direct Mail or as newspaper inserts.
Winefest Calgary will take place at the Stampede Park Big Four from February 22-23. Tickets are $80 for Friday and Saturday evening sessions or $75 for the Saturday afternoon session; there is a discount for the purchase of 10 or more tickets.
