The voices of singers from Midland and throughout Western Australia will unite for Guildford’s third annual Songfest.
A unique event which mirrors a similar songfest held in the state’s far southern town of Dunsborough, the Guildford Songfest presents a full weekend of entertainment by talented vocalists.
An extensive programme of performances by solo performers, groups and choirs from all corners of the state has been put together for the occasion. Workshops run by renowned artists will also be held to help guide those wishing to embark on a full time career within the industry.
Guildford’s beauty and old world charm comes to the fore during Songfest, with many of its historic buildings surrounding the village square playing host to festival performances. All buildings are within walking distance from each other as well as the train station to ensure rail commuters and pedestrians alike can easily access the concerts. The suburb is also home to busy café strips, pubs, hotels and coffee shops.
Organisers are also planning to delight festival visitors with choirs in a marquee as part of the Guildford Markets, a popular event that takes place each Sunday in Stirling Square. A graphic design illustrating the location of all venues taking part in the festival is available on the Guildford Songfest website.
The Guildford Songfest is set to attract thousands of visitors when it is held on September 14 and 15.
