An exhibition featuring an audio-visual artform will be on show at an art hub in Midland this year.
Art enthusiasts in the area can attend an original experience coming to the suburb in late winter. Titled Leave the Light On – Stories About Home, the immersive installation centres on the relationships people have with the buildings they live in.
The work is the creation of Whiskey & Boots, also known as Georgia King and Mark Storen. An award-winning duo of performance artists from Perth, they are praised for the community-driven, music, theatre and storytelling projects they craft. Their past works include The Quadrangle, Mama Stitch and For The Best.
From painters to live performing artists, creatives often count on business card printing services that can produce professional contact cards they can pass to potential collaborators.
Because it is an audio-visual installation, the exhibition asks audiences to think of the homes they come from and homes they may make in the future. Those visiting will experience composed music, audio recordings and projections of drawn animations. Audiences will also be invited to anonymously write a letter to their home that will be displayed in the installation space.
Leave the Light On – Stories About Home will be on show in the Midland Junction Arts Centre from Saturday, August 22 to Sunday, November 1. The centre is sited at 276 Great Eastern Highway in Midland.
