The City of Swan, including the Midland suburb, is the focus of a new documentary which is set to soar on the international scene.
Titled `For the Love of the Valley’, the documentary has been shot
throughout the spectacular Swan Valley area, according to a City of Swan spokesperson.
For the next three months Singapore Airline passengers will be able to view the presentation, which will be included in the inflight entertainment programme.
The documentary will then become a great addition to Postcards, Brochures and the wide range of marketing services used by the City to promote the region.
The spokesman said a fresh, new light is shone on the popular area, which has long been a drawcard for tourists, locals and visitors to the area. He said he feels the authentic character and home grown goodness of the Swan Valley, its unique nature and people have been captured in the film.
The 22 minute presentation contains 5 key storylines and each is presented by local stalwarts who represent a variety of interests.
Presenters include fourth generation winemaker Anthony Yurisich, of Olive Farm Winery; artist and iron forger known as the Wizard of Fire Antonio Battistessa; House of Honey proprietors and beekeepers Rupert and Kim Philips; Feral Brewing Company owner and brewer Brendan Varis and Humane Food Region Ambassador, chef and proprietor of Taylors Art and Coffee House Caroline Taylor.
The documentary was a joint venture between the City of Swan and the Swan Valley and Regional Winemakers Association.
