After 50 years, Midland’s train station will be demolished and relocated between Helena and Cale Streets.
Midland Station is part of a major development in the area, which has seen the revitalisation and transformation of the historical city. The New Junction development in Midland has been underway since 2000. With stage one completed and stage two well underway, the train station will be an integral component of this major project in the City of Swan.
The new train station will be closer to the town centre, with a bus interchange nearby. The intent is to connect the city and provide a fundamental upgrade, keeping in line with the city’s other major developments. The station will have three platforms, one of which will be for regional trains.
New Junction, when complete, will include a world-class university, health facilities, residential and commercial builds, retail outlets and restaurants. There will be a strong focus on connectivity, with the master plan including better pedestrian access. The train station will play an integral role in providing access to, from and around the city.
Major redevelopment projects such as this often require brochure printing services to alert the community to changes. It is expected that the station will see over 3,500 people boarding per day by 2031.
The $160 million project is expected to be completed by mid-2023.
