In addition to new schools at West Swan, Landsdale and Mandurah, a $60 million Secondary College that will also open in 2023 is planned for South Perth's Piara Waters. The projects are expected to create 252 jobs.
Premier of WA Mark McGowan said each school will give local children outstanding facilities, and he added:
"Nothing is more important than giving young Western Australians a quality education, and families in Landsdale, Mandurah and West Swan will benefit from this fully funded commitment."
The new $22.38 million school at Lansdale is set to accommodate 540 students and provide much needed relief from growing enrolments at nearby Ashdale, Landsdale and Carnaby Rise primary schools. Meanwhile, $25.77 million has been allocated for the Mandurah school project, and $22.34 million for West Swan.
Each of the schools will feature staff facilities, administration, an art room, covered assembly, a library and an education block for early childhood, as well as general classrooms, an oval and parent and staff parking.
Major construction projects such as these can also assist local businesses, such as Print shops.
Work on the schools is set to begin soon. Meanwhile, a 2023 opening date has also been set for the Yarralinka Primary School, which is currently undergoing construction of Stage 2.
