Midland hosts bike maintenance class
A class dedicated to essential bicycle maintenance will soon be held at a Midland retail outlet.
The home of cycling in the city of Midland, 99 Bikes, is hosting basic maintenance class for riders this autumn. Midland cyclists can sign up to Club 99 and get a free crash course in critical maintenance that everyone with a bike should know.
Local retailers like cycle shops sometimes use flyer printing services to generate eye-catching adverts that promote in-store events to the public.
The educational opportunity will cover a wide range of subjects. These will include how to assess whether a bicycle is safe for riding and resolve issues confidently using quick releases and mini tool sets. The class also provides learners with basic competency working with bolt tensions and pedal spanners.
Class candidates will also learn where to apply grease and when a mechanical fault requires professional assistance. Other topics cover bike cleaning (including application of chain lube) and changing tyres and tubes. Cyclist attending the class don’t need to bring their bike to the event.
The maintenance class will be at 99 Bikes on Thursday, the 8th May and runs from 5:15 pm to 6:30 pm. The one-stop shop for cyclists is located at 1/201 Great Eastern Highway in Midland. Those who can’t make the free class in May will find another running on Thursday, the 19th.
