Demand for land in the City of Swan, which includes Midland, was strong during the June quarter of this year.
According to the UDIA WA, the top sales activity was recorded in the region's suburbs of Brabham, Ellenbrook and Vale, and this contributed to more than 1000 total blocks sold during the three month period, at a price average of $228,000.
A close second, with a sales total of 800 and price average of $215,000, was the City of Wanneroo.
The overall figures for the quarter reflect a surge in land sales across Perth, the likes of which have not been seen since surveys of the land market were first introduced by the UDIA in 1990.
Tanya Steinbeck, UDIA Chief Executive, said stimulus measures for building homes had impacted greatly on the market in Perth, but the affordability of land has endured, with only a 0.8 percent rise on land prices during the quarter. In the past year, the price rise has been just 2 percent.
Important statistics such as this have often been included in informative brochure printing campaigns undertaken by real estate and property professionals.
According to Ms Steinbeck, a rush for new land was experienced due to the latest stimulus packages that encouraged people to build new homes, but the demand had now settled, with the industry better equipped to supply the market.
During the June quarter, the location deemed most affordable was the City of Rockingham.
