A Christmas Gathering will be held at Glen Forrest, near Midland, to start off the Christmas weekend. This is an annual event for all members of the community, young and old.
Sponsored by a number of community organisations, including the Shire of Mundaring, the Bendigo Bank, and the Glen Forrest Fire Brigade, there will be a variety of activities and games to begin the evening’s entertainment. A sausage sizzle will be on site and drinks and ice cream can be purchased at stalls. Santa Claus will be escorted to the event by the Glen Forrest Fire Brigade complete with siren. Following Santa’s visit, approximately 60 children of the Hills Youth Choir will lead those attending in carol singing.
The Hills Youth Choir is made up of children and young people aged eight to eighteen who volunteer from the local areas in the weeks prior to the gathering, specifically to rehearse for and sing at this event. It is likely that poster and flyer printing will be utilised to promote the gathering. Booklet printing may be employed for carol song Books.
The Christmas Gathering will take place on Friday, December 23 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Glen Forrest Oval on Marnie Road at Glen Forrest. Attendees of all ages are welcome and will be admitted free of charge.
