An arts centre in Midland has planned a spring workshop that allows attendees to combine multiple materials and techniques to create original artworks.
Creatives in Midland seeking a hands-on opportunity can soon attend the artist-led workshop in the suburb. Titled “Wildflower Collage and Stitch”, the experience will run at a local venue in October, which is managed by the Mundaring Arts Centre (MAC). It is aimed at attendees aged 13 and over, and the cost to participate in the workshop is $58.50 for MAC members and $65 for non-members.
Local arts hubs sometimes employ flyer printing services to create detailed adverts that include information on age suitability and pricing.
The half-day workshop is inspired by the regions’ flowers and plants and is helmed by artist Angela Ferolla. Those joining will explore various art Forms including applique, stitch and collage, and use recycled materials to produces patterns and textile shapes before decorating them with embroidery.
Based in nearby Fremantle, Ferolla is a textile artist who works as a teacher at John Curtin College of the Arts, specialising in costume design. She also delivers student workshops at the Fremantle Arts Centre.
The Wildflower Collage and Stitch workshop will be at the Midland Junction Arts Centre on Saturday, October 4. The centre is sited at 276 Great Eastern Highway in Midland, and the workshop starts at 10.30 am.Get a Free Quote for Forms
