Residents of the Bibra Lake area may be keen to attend the grand opening of the ice arena in its new six-acre art complex, located directly opposite the lake.
The Mayor will be doing the honours, highlighting the Olympic-sized skating arena, which is the latest addition to the recreational area on Progress Drive. In addition, there is a ballet studio, a café, a shop and three rooms that can be booked for parties.
During the upcoming October event, there will be a free bouncy castle and face-painting. Attendees will also be able to pay to skate in one of four public sessions. There will be appearances by local figure and synchronised skaters, and favourite ice mascots will have a presence too. A new light and sound system will provide the atmosphere, and there will be games to play and prizes to be won.
Later on in the year, the second half of the Ice Sports Complex will be opening, which is the long-awaited Hockey Rink.
