Bibra Lake nature enthusiasts might wish to join a night walk that will highlight features of the area and take a look at some of the dark-skies residents.
The unique event will involve a walk through the Bibra Lake bush, sharing the post-European settlement history of the area whilst describing the wildlife of the Beeliar Wetlands and giving participants the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the nocturnal creatures. These include Tawny Frogmouths, Brushtail Possums, Ringtail Possums and Vinnie the Wombat.
The guides will share the importance of the beauty of the wetlands and their environmental significance, and will highlight mammals, birds and reptiles that co-exist, whilst sharing facts about their behaviour and ecology that helps the area thrive.
The guides will also share information about the particular conservation programs of the environment and the protection of the creatures within it. Attendees are welcome to ask questions and be involved in discussions about what they see.
Sessions that are designed to engage local residents might rely on local printing services to produce information sheets that attendees can take away with them.
A WA Wildlife Nocturnal Night Stalk is taking place on Saturday March 21, from 6pm until approximately 8pm. Tickets cost from $12.50, for a child. This event is weather-dependent and takes place around Bibra Lake.
