Families in Seaford are being reassured that the junior library is to remain open during upcoming renovations.
Frankston City Council has quelled rumours that the library would be closing as work gets underway to refurbish the community centre where it operates.
The Seaford Junior Library offers young readers the chance to borrow Books twice a week, as well as running story times for pre-school children.
Library users had been upset at suggestions the facility would close during the renovation work, which has already begun with the installation of a new roof, but Frankston City Council has moved to reassure families that the service would continue to operate from temporary locations that would be announced soon.
The council could use flyer printing to send updates to locals via their letterboxes, and poster printing to advertise the other sites to be used during the work.
When it is complete, the library will be open each weekday and on Saturday mornings, and will offer a wider range of Books and services. The community centre will also host local groups and the council’s Customer Service Centre.
The renovations are due to begin in earnest in August, and are scheduled to last three to four months. More details about events at the Community Centre and the Library can also be found on the Frankston City Council website.Get a Free Quote for Books
