Fans of yacht rock in the Seaford area can be entertained by an evening of much-loved soft rock classics in September.
Yacht rock is also known as adult-oriented rock or the West Coast sound. The term came from the 2005 online comedy series Yacht Rock and refers to light, popular, melodic pop, with a smooth, soulful sound, particularly songs that were popular from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. Often, they might be songs that people typically would play on cassette Tape whilst driving.
Coming to the Seaford Hotel is the Yacht Rock Revival band. The eight-piece band, led by lead vocalist Susan Marsden, has been in existence for five years. Other members include Peter Newmarch (vocalist), Jeremy Diffey (saxophone, keyboards, vocals), Fabrizio Giorgio, Javier Fredes, Robert Powell, Thomas Petrasek and Aynsley Green.
On the night, the set list is likely to include catchy tunes by beloved artists such as Christopher Cross, The Doobie Brothers and Hall and Oates. Songs included are all likely to be well known and popular, such as Ride Like the Wind, What A Fool Believes, and Private Eyes.
Musical groups often make use of local poster printing services for advertisement purposes within the community at large.
The Yacht Rock Revival - Full Steam Ahead Tour is taking place on Thursday 25th September at 8pm at the Seaford Hotel, Seaford. Tickets cost $39.80.
