Australian music to be celebrated in Seaford

Residents of Seaford can enjoy the eve of the Grand Final Holiday by listening to some iconic Australian music of the late 1970s into the 1980s.

The local hotel will be hosting Land Down Under, a home-grown band that is known for high energy covers of Australian anthems and classics that defined a generation.

Members of the band include Scott Griffiths on keyboards, guitar and vocals, Peter Robertson on drums, Gaz Brown on vocals, Pete Newson on bass, Bernadetta Glowacka on vocals and the saxophone and Geoff Wells on guitar.

On the evening, the band will be resurrecting the spirit of the 1970s and 1980s when home-grown bands such as Split Enz, INXS, AC/DC and Men at Work dominated the charts, both at home and on the international stage. There were popular solo singers too, including Kylie and Olivia Newton-John. The playlist is likely to include songs such as Down Under, Highway to Hell, Can’t Get You Out of My Head and Need You Tonight.
