Rock fans living in or near Seaford can now buy tickets for a concert that will celebrate a legendary Australian rock band.
Celebrating 50 years in the business, Rose Tattoo is embarking on a tour of Australia, closely followed by a European leg. A Sydney band at the outset, they have accumulated a devoted following in the area.
Now led by Angry Anderson, one of the early band members, the band has nurtured a sound that is a mixture of blues and hard rock. The self-titled first album in 1978 spawned the title track Rock n’ Roll Outlaw, which became a hit in Germany in particular.
The album went on to be featured in the book The 100 Best Australian Albums. In 2006, Rose Tattoo was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. The band was also dubbed Best New Band in UK magazine Kerrang! in 1981.
Members of the band Guns n’ Roses are also fans, even covering some of Rose Tattoo’s songs, such as Nice Boys, which was released in 1978.
At the upcoming Seaford gig, the audience is likely to hear tracks such as Bad Boy for Love, We Can’t Be Beaten and Scarred for Life.
