Professionals working in the youth sector throughout Seaford will have a unique opportunity to enhance their skills and reflect on lessons learnt throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in a free conference being organised by the Greater Dandenong Youth Services.
The stressors caused by the global coronavirus pandemic have been keenly felt by the nation’s young people, and the “Thrive: Supporting Young People after COVID-19” conference will allow youth support workers to learn about both the challenges and opportunities presented during this unprecedented time.
Featuring presentations and speakers from the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria, the University of Melbourne’s School of Population and Global Health and the health promotion charity Enliven Victoria, the day’s programme will culminate in a panel discussion involving both youth representatives and youth work professionals.
The conference’s schedule is planned to begin with the keynote address by Julia Baron, who will be detailing how the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria, as the peak body working in the sector, is actively addressing the challenges that will be faced in post-COVID recovery. Participants attending conferences such as this can benefit from having Business Cards to hand for potential networking opportunities.
The Thrive conference is planned to take place on Thursday, May 13th at the Dandenong Civic Centre from 9am. It is free to all professionals working with young people in Greater Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia. Bookings are currently available online.
