The music of pioneer rock and roller Buddy Holly will fill the auditorium at the Frankston Arts Centre, when Scott `Buddy’ Cameron presents his 10th Anniversary Concert Tour paying tribute to the performer.
Holly fans from neighbouring suburbs, including Carrum Downs, Frankston, Langwarrin, Sandhurst, Skye, and Seaford, Victoria, will be able to relive hits such as That’ll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Oh Boy, Heartbeat, Maybe Baby and Everyday.
Cameron has been starring in the tribute for the past decade, and has also toured the country playing the same role in concert productions developed for stage by Happy Days records. These included Buddy: The Concert tour, Buddy `N’ Roy, The Class of 59 alongside Lonnie Lee and Elvis Meets Buddy, in which he starred with popular favourite Doug Parkinson.
The performer won the praise of international audiences and the support of Buddy Holly’s friends and family for his portrayal of the ‘50s music icon in the worldwide hit Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story between 2004 and 2009. Poster printing featured Cameron as the star of the show.
The Holly family’s Peggy Sue, who inspired the famous song, said the Australian artist’s performance was so close to Buddy’s that it sent chills down her spine.
Despite enjoying less than 18 months of real star status before he was tragically killed in an airplane crash, Buddy Holly left an incredible musical legacy for future generations.
Scott `Buddy' Cameron will present his 10th Anniversary Buddy the Concert on August 22nd.
