Kids in Melbourne Southbank have the opportunity to join in with a Lego Machine Virtual Learning Lab over the school holidays, which is being organised by Moree Educational and Lego Learning.
The STEM workshops aim to inspire the children of today to become tomorrow’s innovators through teaching them how the world works and what they can achieve. Participants are required to purchase a Simple Machines set before the workshop and participate in three workshops of 60 minutes each. The workshops will focus on exploring levers, pulleys and gears.
The workshops are suitable for children aged from seven to ten years old, and it is just one of the many educational programs offered by Moree Educational over the holidays.
Lego bricks and kits are often used in STEM programs as they enable children to understand how objects are built and how components fit together – both in Lego and in the real world. Online workshop organisers may utilise graphic design skills to create a suitable illustration for use when advertising upcoming workshops and events.
The workshops will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. They will start on Tuesday, January 5, with the final set of workshops starting on Tuesday, January 19. Participants must attend workshops for each of the three days. For more information, see the City of Melbourne website.
