Stagg is holding a masterclass for young singers and music lovers that will bring delight to all. A masterclass is a class given to students in a particular area by an expert of that discipline, and as such, singers enrolling for the class can expect expert tutoring and positive critique.
Renowned for her powerful voice and stage presence, after graduating from the University of Melbourne, Stagg started her career at the Salzburg Festival 10 years ago, quickly followed by a stint at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. She then went on to grace some of the most revered operatic houses in Europe, such as the Dutch National Opera and the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. Most recently, Stagg starred as Violetta in the Verdi opera, La Traviata., at the Grand Opera House, Belfast. The Observer (UK) gave this production a five-star review:
“…this Traviata was deftly cast, impressively sung, perceptively conceived and direct in impact.”
The Masterclass with Siobhan Stagg takes place on Tuesday, February 28 at 6.30pm at the Iwaki Auditorium, ABC Southbank Centre, 120-130 Southbank Boulevard, Southbank. Tickets cost $15. This event will be filmed.
