Rock legend to perform in Southbank
Residents of Melbourne Southbank that enjoy rock music can expect to rejoice next month as Australian icon Richard Clapton will be holding a performance.
Clapton, who is both a songwriter and a singer, is well-known throughout Australia for his songs “Capricorn Dancer” and “Deep Water”. While he is not that well-known on a global scale, his songs have featured frequently on radio playlists in Australia. Clapton has also been a mentor to various bands in the early 1980s, such as INXS.
The rock star’s upcoming performance will be held at the Palms in Crown Melbourne. The venue is known for hosting more than 150 shows annually, from comedy performances to live music. The large entertainment area can seat 870 people. The fit-out is cabaret style, which includes an elevated performance stage. This allows for an ambience that is intimate and immersive.
Performances by artists like Clapton can be promoted to a wide target audience via poster printing, with posters placed in locations that experience a lot of foot traffic.
The performance will be held on March 13th. It is set to start at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 6.45pm. Clapton’s performance will start at 8.30pm and finish at 9.50pm, with times subject to change. Tickets can be bought from the Ticketmaster website and cost $71.22 apiece, prior to handling charges.
