New and older fans of Barbie in the Melbourne Southbank area may wish to celebrate a significant anniversary with savoury and sweet treats at The Langham.
The iconic fashion doll, Barbie, turns 65 this year. Beloved of young girls and those with more years behind them, Barbie is a treasured and much-loved nostalgic icon for many.
The Langham is celebrating this glorious Miss with a celebratory afternoon tea. Children and adult’s Menus will be available, each including hot and cold savoury items. Menus will usually feature the very recognisable Barbie logo and are often produced by local Print shops.
The crowning glory of the afternoon tea will be a loaded cake stand, filled with tasty, sweet items such as passionfruit macarons, red velvet cupcakes and, of course, lots of scones with lashings of raspberry and rhubarb jam. A pink theme will likely feature prominently, to complement the Barbie logo.
Barbie Afternoon Tea at The Langham (Alto Room) is taking place from Monday 8th April over six consecutive days during the Easter holidays. There are two sessions per day: 11.30am until 1.30pm and 2.30pm until 4.30pm. Tickets cost from $90. An activity bag (including a Barbie doll) is included for children. Adults can enjoy a glass of wine, and tea and coffee as part of the experience.
