The 1991 film captured the soulful sounds of Dublin in Ireland at the time at a time of social unrest. Andrew Strong was one of the original film actors, playing the character Deco Cuffe.
Critics raved of Strong’s charismatic presence and superlative voice, which was able to capture the essence of the underground scene of Northside Dublin.
Nowadays, more than 30 years later, the performance still enjoys sell out shows. Popular songs from the soundtrack include Take Me to the River, Try a Little Tenderness and Chain of Fools, which will be delivered on the night with Strong’s trademark compelling performances.
His voice has been described by 100% Rock Magazine as:
“…powerful as it was in ‘The Commitments’… Strong has aged like fine whiskey on oak, delivering a soulful and unforgettable performance.”
