Lewis Caroll fans in the Melbourne Southbank area will no doubt be interested to see the beloved tale, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, translated into ballet.
The ballet performance will be taking place next month. As ballet is often deemed a special treat, audience members are often keen to buy Promotional Products to mark the occasion.
Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon has cast a spell and created a family-ready piece that tells the fantastical story, replete with humorous eccentricity. Designer Bob Crowley uses technical expertise and conventional stage craft to conjure up puppetry and inspired design, whilst composer Joby Talbot’s score is lively and interspersed with ticking clocks. The audience will be delighted to see a tap-dancing Mad Hatter and a caterpillar in 16 blinged pointe shoes in the three-act performance.
In 2018, the production won the Helpmann Award for Best Ballet and was nominated for categories such as Best Choreography, Best Scenic Design and Best Female and Male Dancer. This time around, the audience is bound to be equally enraptured by the spectacular production.
