Kids will have plenty to occupy them later this month, as Children’s Week is celebrated in Caulfield and across the city of Glen Eira.
To mark Halloween, Caulfield Library will be holding a special spooky storytelling session on Saturday, October 31, at 2:00 pm and children are encouraged to dress in their best spooky costumes.
On Tuesday, October 27, members of Victoria Police will be at the Murrumbeena Reserve to talk about community safety, while a school crossing supervisor will help youngsters learn about road safety and on Friday, October 30, families can find out fun ways to live more sustainably with a recycling exhibit and worm farm in Elsternwick.
During the week, the council’s three childcare centres, including the one in Caulfield will also be holding open days. The educators at each centre will be on hand to answer questions, and no doubt Brochures will also be given out to provide more information.
Children can also make themselves part of Glen Eira’s history during this year’s event by leaving something in a time capsule book based at Carnegie Library. Youngsters are encouraged to write a poem, draw a picture, or fill in the capsule questionnaire and can submit pieces up until Wednesday, November 4.
Children’s Week runs from Saturday, October 24 to Sunday, November 1. Full details of the programme can be found on the Glen Eira City Council website.Get a Free Quote for Brochures
