The idea of ‘togetherness’ is being explored at a light-hearted exhibition in Caulfield.
Bill Potiris is the artist who has collected some of his works for display that explore the theme of ‘together’. The pieces consider people celebrating collective moments, supporting each other and working towards a shared goal.
Potiris is an Australian artist who works on canvas with acrylics. He is self-taught, starting out with pencil and oils in the mid-eighties. He likes the creative process and how it enables him to switch off from daily pressures. He is one of the founders of a website that allows artists to display their work online.
Potiris’ art at the gallery will be humorous and quirky, for example, there is a painting of a couple crossing the ocean in a treasure chest, simply entitled ‘Crossing the ocean together 2025’. All of the paintings gently invite the attendees to step closer and reflect on what they see and how it might mirror events in their own lives.
Art works within a gallery space are often assigned text labels which often feature a description of the piece. These might be compiled by local Print shops.
Together by Bill Potiris is being exhibited from 13th March until 26th April at Gallery Two, Glen Eira City Council Gallery, Corner of Glen Eira and Hawthorn Roads, in Caulfield. The gallery is closed over Easter from Friday 3rd April to Monday 6th April inclusive.
