A British group which rose to fame in the 90s have reformed and are now playing Melbourne as part of an epic tour.
Fans of music from the “Madchester” scene in Caulfield and other suburbs of the coastal capital will soon be able to catch the Happy Mondays when they perform live at the Forum this October. The upcoming show is part of a major tour to celebrate the band getting back together after many years apart.

The Happy Mondays are a well-regarded alternative rock band which formed in Salford, Manchester, back in 1985. The group is led by frontman Shaun Ryder, who created the band in partnership with his brother and Happy Monday’s bass player, Paul Ryder. The two siblings were joined by their friend Bez, who is known for his dancing and playing percussion, alongside Mark Day on guitar, Paul Davis as keyboardist and Gary Whelan on drums.
Fans attending the show will be able to hear classic tracks from the group, which may include “Kinky Afro” and “Step On”.
