Top tips for business on offer in Caulfield

May has arrived, and with it Glen Eira’s biggest business event of the year.

May Small Business Month is a chance for businesses from across the city, including those based in Caulfield, to come together to share ideas and to learn from experts and industry leaders.

There is still time for interested company owners or managers to get involved with events running until the first week of June.

This year the focus is on marketing with workshops looking at using social media as well as more traditional ways of promoting products, such as in-store displays.

One of the major events will be a talk by Dr. Sean Sands, Director of Research and Industry Engagement ARCS at Monash University, who will be discussing global trends in retail and how Australian companies can use them to their advantage. Dr. Sands will speak on Monday, May 18.

Another popular seminar, on Thursday May 28, will be presented by behaviour psychologist Adam Ferrier, who will discuss how to understand consumer behaviour and use marketing to influence decisions.

With entrepreneurs from around Glen Eira set to attend, the events should also be good networking opportunities, which means business card printing should be a priority for anyone thinking of taking part in the seminars.

To book a place at any of the events, contact the council’s service centre or book online through the website.
