Social networking advice offered to businesswomen in Caulfield

Female entrepreneurs in Caulfield can learn a little more about how technology can help them make progress at a networking event later this month.

The Glen Eira Women's Business Network will be welcoming online businesswoman Alli Price for the meeting, which takes place on July 18th.

Alli is the founder of Motivating Mum, a website she set up while living in the UK. The website's aim is to provide support for mums who are also running a business through online advice, mentoring and networking events and clubs.

Alli launched Motivating Mum in Australia when she moved back to the country three years ago and has grown her membership to more than 400. There are around 10 clubs running in Melbourne and more around the country.

While Alli runs face-to-face events, most of her business was built online through social media and this is the topic she will speak about at the meeting, with a particular focus on Facebook. The presentation will cover the basics of setting up a Facebook page, promoting a business and building a following through posting updates and running competitions.

The event will also be a good opportunity for attendees to make valuable contacts, so professional business card printing should be considered. With the emphasis on online networking, guests might also like to consider digital Business Cards.

The meeting will be held at Glen Eira town hall in Caulfield and will start at 6:30pm. The cost is $20 per person, which includes a light supper. Bookings are required and can be made through the council's service centre.
