Networking advice on offer in Caulfield

Networking is an important part of building a successful business, but for many people it can be a difficult skill to master. Fortunately, company owners in Caulfield now have the chance to improve their techniques at a special seminar run by Glen Eira city council.

The event will see talks given by two experts who will provide practical advice on how to overcome anxiety about public speaking and meeting with new people, how to build confidence and how to use current skills in a networking situation. The seminar will also cover the importance of networking for businesses on a tight marketing budget, and some etiquette tips for successful relationship building.

The speakers are Jeff McLean and Kimberly Palmer. Mr McLean is a psychologist who worked for a number of groups before setting up his own business. He now uses techniques such as mindfulness and meditation to help other organisations. Ms Palmer runs her own marketing and communications agency working in both online marketing and more traditional methods such as networking and event management.

Business owners may like to think about putting networking skills into practice during the evening and should think about making an order for business card printing to ensure they can pass on their details to other local entrepreneurs.

The seminar will take place on Wednesday October 2 at the Glen Eira Town Hall in Caulfield, starting at 6:00pm. The cost includes a light buffet at the start of the evening. Bookings must be made through the council's service centre by Wednesday September 25.
