Melbourne Fashion Festival is underway

Melbourne Fashion Festival (MFF), now in its third decade, is being held again.

MFF is a key calendar event for dedicated followers of fashion. Over 100 designers have got involved in proceedings this time around. Poster printing can be used for promotional purposes at shows. It is expected that 50 runway events shall be hosted in Melbourne over a period of about three weeks.

Residents of Melbourne suburbs such as Caulfield may take the train to see what is going on. The Royal Exhibition Building (REB) is one site where people shall gather to view the spectacle. Jessica Gomes is a model who was there to help kick things off a few days ago. Kassandra Clementi, a current Hollywood star who used to be an Australian model, has flown in from Los Angeles to enjoy the festival. Rumours have suggested that Helena Christensen, a former supermodel, is likely to be in Melbourne too.

Vera Blue, an Australian singer, is expected to perform at the MFF. Ms Blue writes some of her own material. Her live performance may well be worth attending.

The MFF is quite different from the fashion week which Sydney hosts. The clothing that fashion devotees see at the Sydney event is never available to the public until several months have elapsed. In Melbourne, consumers can pick up the items that appeal to them straightaway by using an interactive shop.
