Caulfield business owners who missed out during the council’s Small Business Month events in May have a second chance to learn some new skills next month.
The council is staging two events in August aimed at businesses who want to explore the idea of social media marketing.
This type of marketing is becoming increasingly common and works well alongside more traditional marketing techniques such as poster printing.
On Monday August 3, marketing coach Elliot Hayes will be discussing the idea of video marketing and how to create videos in a repeat of a session he held during the business month. The interactive workshop will include creating a video strategy to increase sales, using a smartphone to shoot films and how to share them on social media.
On Friday August 7, public relations expert Trevor Young will be speaking on the topic of social media. Young was a popular speaker at the Business Month and is holding another series of talks in response to requests for further sessions.
In the first talk, aimed at retail businesses, he will discuss how to use social media and build a brand and will include practical tips that business owners can use such as blogging and podcasts.
Both events will be held at Glen Eira Town Hall in Caulfield. Bookings need to be made in advance by contacting the Glen Eira City Council.
