Glen Eira to host teen events

Glen Eira Youth Services has organised a program of low-cost school holiday activities for young residents aged 12 to 18 years in January.

Activities include a visit to the Adventure Park in Geelong on Tuesday 15th, a trip to the city for 10-pin bowling followed by a movie on Wednesday 16th, a day of video games, board games and challenges flowed by pizza making on Thursday 17th.

A morning of light-hearted summer sports for all levels of ability, finishing off with a barbecue lunch is planned for Wednesday 23rd with the Amazing Race – City Dash taking place a day later on Thursday 24th.

For the City Dash, teams of youngsters will compete to tackle a series of challenges and activities around various Melbourne landmarks in a race. The teams will set out from East Caulfield Reserve Social Room and participants will need to bring a MYKI, a drink and lunch. They should wear comfortable shoes and a hat and remember the sunscreen.

Programs such as this often use flyer printing to help people choose which activities they would like to attend.

Bookings are required for all events and can be made through Try Booking and more details are available from the council website. Bookings close on Friday 14th December and places are limited. Most activities cost $5 or $10 and are free for Health Care Card holders.
