Caulfield households, businesses, schools and community groups will have a fantastic opportunity to bargain hunt and declutter their homes, offices and garages at the upcoming Garage Sale Trail.
The national event, supported by the Glen Eira City Council, aims to prevent excess items ending up in landfill through the on-selling and recycling of items. This year, due to current COVID-19 restrictions in some areas, the garage sale will be held both in person and online, allowing everyone to take part.
With the aim to “make money, save money”, the Garage Sale Trail estimates that in 2019, over 400,000 Australians were involved and around 18,000 garage sales were held across the country – saving 3.2 million kilograms of unwanted belongings ending up in landfill.
Every garage sale will get an online page detailing who is involved, the types of items for sale and any other relevant information for residents wishing to join in the fun and hunt for second-hand treasure.
Organisers of events such as garage sales sometimes use flyer printing to distribute event details and location maps.
The garage sales will be held from 9am until 5pm on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November across the City of Glen Eira. For more information or to register for the event, see the Glen Eira City Council website or the Garage Sale Trail website.
