Caulfield residents are being given the chance to influence the way Glen Eira’s open spaces are used for sporting activities and socialising.
Glen Eira City Council has released a draft version of its Open Space Strategy and is now calling for feedback from those who will be affected. The strategy will guide the management and development of open spaces around the municipality until 2026 and will update the original Strategy, which was put together in 1998.
Glen Eira’s Mayor, Councillor Jamie Hyams, said open spaces were a vital part of the area and encouraged local people to put their views forward to be heard.
A copy of the draft strategy can be downloaded from the Glen Eira City Council website. The use of printing services means that a hard copy of the draft document can also be viewed at the council service centre or at the area's libraries by those who are unable to read it online.
Two information sessions will also be held to provide people with more information about the plans. Caulfield residents might like to attend the session on Thursday November 14 at the Packer Pavilion in Carnegie. Another forum will be held at the Glen Eira Town Hall on Monday November 18; both events start at 7:00pm.
Written feedback can be posted or emailed to the council, or residents can take part in the online discussion forum to ask questions and leave their thoughts. Feedback can be provided until Friday December 13.
