Caulfield residents looking for something to do after the excitement of Christmas Day should head to the racetrack on Boxing Day, for a full race card and plenty of entertainment.
The feature race is the appropriately named ‘Christmas Stakes’, although there will also be a number of smaller races held during the day.
Cricket fans, potentially upset at being dragged away from the Boxing Day Ashes Test between England and Australia, should make their way to a giant screen where the match will be shown live. Amateur players can test their skills in the Cricket Bowling Arena, with prizes on offer for the fastest male and female bowlers in four age groups.
Even those who aren’t sports fans will still enjoy the day with live music, children’s entertainment and possibly even an extra visit from Santa to keep the festive spirit going.
Visitors can bring a picnic, get some food from the barbecue, or even book a table at one of the venue’s two restaurants.
The event should make for some happy family photographs and visitors might like to think about using a photo for postcard printing or even personalised Stationery printing to share with friends and family.
Tickets can be bought in advance, but Caulfield residents who buy tickets on the gate can take advantage of the special two-for-one ticket offer available just for locals to make the event a family day out. Residents should remember that they will need to have valid identification to show they live in the area to take up the deal. The fun starts at 11:00am on Thursday December 26.
