Caulfield kids invited to immunisation party

Glen Eira City Council is making immunisations for four-year-olds fun with vaccination parties featuring children’s entertainment and complimentary show Bags.

The next vaccination party will be held on Wednesday, September 2 from 4pm-6pm, and all Caulfield children aged four are welcome to attend. Bookings are not necessary, but parents are advised to bring along their child’s health book or record of previous vaccinations. Due to current circumstances, only one parent per child is asked to attend the clinic.

At four years old, children are vaccinated for tetanus, poliomyelitis, pertussis (whooping cough) and diphtheria, and the Australian recommendation is that children receive the vaccine at some time during the month in which they turn four.

The Australian immunisation schedule is a safe and efficient way of protecting children from damaging diseases and for protecting others in the community by reducing the number of diseases present.

After the vaccination, children are asked to stay at the clinic for at least 15 minutes so vaccination staff can check there has been no adverse reactions. During this time, children can enjoy the party entertainment.

Many children’s events and parties make use of printing services, such as flyer and poster printing, to attract the attention of both children and parents.

Vaccination clinics and party sessions are held regularly in the Glen Eira Town Hall, situated on the corner of Glen Eira and Hawthorn Roads in Caulfield. For more information and dates of upcoming clinics, please see the council website.
