Breakfast to celebrate Australia Day in Caulfield

The Victorian Auditor-General John Doyle will be the guest speaker at next year’s Australia Day breakfast in Glen Eira.

Mr Doyle took up his role as Victorian Auditor-General in 2013. He has previously been Auditor-General of British Columbia in Canada.

During the breakfast, to be held at Glen Eira Town Hall in Caulfield, the council will also reveal its Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year, as well as the Community Group of the Year.

These awards are presented to individuals and groups thought to have made an outstanding contribution to the Glen Eira community during the past year.

Nominations are made by the public and then shortlisted by a selection panel, which includes councillors and community representatives, before the winners are chosen by Glen Eira City Council.

As well as celebrating the country’s special day and honouring Glen Eira’s citizens, the event is also likely to be a good networking opportunity for local business owners and those running not-for-profit organisations.

Anyone from these groups thinking of attending might like to make an order for business card printing, in case they meet any potential business partners during the morning.

The breakfast will be held on Friday, January 23rd. Bookings must be made in advance by contacting the council’s service centre. Seats must be reserved by Friday, January 16th and cost $30 per person.
