Advice on offer from top online entrepreneurs

Caulfield residents who are considering entering the world of business this year can get some expert advice when a special seminar takes place later this month.

Glen Eira City Council has lined up five respected online entrepreneurs who will share their strategies for success at the event.

Hosted by Bernadette Schwerdt from the Australian School of Copywriting, the expo will feature a panel discussion as well as a chance to talk to the experts personally. The seminar will cover many aspects of running an online business, including how to work out if an idea will be successful, how to pitch to potential investors and generating interest through online marketing tools, such as social media.

The panel includes Dean Ramler, who runs a successful online furniture business, and Rick Chen, co-founder of Pozible.com, the top crowd-funding website in Australia which helps people fund creative projects through donations.

During a speed networking session, participants will also be able to ask the experts specific questions about marketing and business ideas, and may even be able to make some important contacts to help with the launch of their new venture.

With the focus on online business, serious entrepreneurs might like to think about digital Business Cards which would allow them to easily swap details with prospective new clients or partners.

The seminar takes place on Wednesday August 28 at Glen Eira Town Hall, starting at 6:00pm. Light refreshments are included and places must be booked through the council's service centre by Friday August 23.
