Movies in the open air showing across Hume this summer
Residents in Broadmeadows can enjoy a family movie this summer as the Hume City Council puts on a series of films in outdoor locations during the warmer months as part of its Movies and Music event.
The movies include
a range of classic films as well as more modern titles and will be screened at locations around the city. Each screening will be preceded by live performances from local musicians.
Movie fans should look out for posters and flyer printing advertising the times and locations of each showing as well as the musical acts on offer.
Broadmeadows residents can enjoy one movie in their own backyard with the classic original version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory to be shown at the Civic Plaza in front of the Hume Global Learning Centre on Friday February 5th. Other films on offer include Big Hero 6, The Wizard of Oz, Minions and Inside Out.
Food stalls will be selling snacks and dinner options from 6pm at each session with the films starting at 7pm. Families are also welcome to take their own picnics.
The movies run from January until March and are screened on Fridays and Saturdays. For more information see the Hume City Council website. All the council organised Movie and Music events are free, but two extra sessions organised by local community groups may incur a small charge.
