Council to organise environmental course for Broadmeadows

Broadmeadows residents who are concerned about the environment can register for a free introductory course that will help with the development of ideas for sustainable and environmental projects within the community.

The course is organised by Hume City Council and will guide participants through designing an actionable, sustainable project with community involvement. Where projects align with strategic objectives by the Council, there may be the opportunity to tap into specific support. Attendees will also learn about the How to Guide, which will be an important part of any project planning event.

Specific council strategies include a Climate Action Plan, which targets carbon neutrality in council operations, a Live Green Plan, which is focused on community-based projects, and Hume Home Energy Help, which helps residents lower energy bills, reduce their carbon emissions and live more affordably.

Community-based events that impart information may use printing services to produce literature that can be taken away and implemented.

The Hume Enviro Champions: Free Two-Day Introduction Course will be taking place on Saturday, 20 June and Saturday, 27 June, from 10 am until 3 pm. The venue is the Hume Global Learning Centre, 1093 Pascoe Vale Road, Broadmeadows. The course is free to attend, but it is necessary to register for a place. Morning tea and lunch will be provided on both days.
